Trimsaran is a Gower-edge settlement of lanes, hedge banks, farmland and older stone boundaries. It is part of the Llanelli, Burry Port & the Amman Valley area, within about 30 miles of Swansea.
- By 1896 Trimsaran employed 144 men mining coal, anthracite and fireclay.
- The village lies on the B4308 between Llanelli and Kidwelly, near Pembrey Country Park.
- Sits on or close to the Gower Peninsula, the United Kingdom's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, designated in 1956.
- Field boundaries, lanes and older stone walls give the area its long-established rural pattern.
