Report a sighting properly the first time
Reports get acted on when they name the plant, pin the location and show photographs. This builds that text for you — nothing is sent from this page.

Who to send it to

- Riverbanks and anything near water: Natural Resources Wales, as well as the council.
- Railway embankments: Network Rail.
- Private gardens and industrial estates: the occupier or managing agent, in writing, keeping a dated copy.
- Records for conservation: submit sightings to the local environmental records centre so the distribution data improves.
Photograph, do not touch
Never handle giant hogweed, and never cut or dig knotweed before it is reported and a plan is in place.
