About the area

Pembroke facts

Pembroke is a built-up part of Swansea where housing, back lanes, walls and small pockets of open ground sit close together. It is part of the Haverfordwest, Tenby & the Pembrokeshire Coast area, within about 30 miles of Swansea.

  • Pembroke Castle, founded in 1093 by Arnulf of Montgomery, is where Henry VII was born in 1457.
  • The castle stands over the Milford Haven waterway and is the largest privately owned castle in Wales.
  • Part of the City and County of Swansea, served by Swansea Council for waste, roads and public land.
  • Terraced and semi-detached housing, back lanes and boundary walls are typical of this part of the city.

Where to look
